You already know Hampton is more than the stretch of Ocean Boulevard that fills up in July. The boardwalk, the Casino Ballroom, the carnival lights. That is the version people drive in for.
The other version is a seacoast working town that does not empty out when the meters stop mattering. People live here, work here, and they have places they actually go on a Wednesday.

Happy hour Hampton NH still works because that town version never left. $1 oysters on D Street. Tacos at Depot Square. Drafts on Lafayette Road after a shift. Hampton Beach happy hour is part of it. It is not the whole story.

High Street is off the boardwalk circuit, which is the point. Shane's is barbecue and tacos for people who live here, with weekday deals that do not need Ocean Boulevard to work.
Around town, a few more spots are worth knowing if you are already out. Wally's at 144 Ashworth Ave runs daily specials rather than a listed happy hour window. Monday is $1 tacos and $5 margaritas. Wednesday is 25-cent wings. Friday is $12 all-you-can-eat fish and chips.
Logan's at 816 Lafayette Rd keeps the inland side interesting with themed nights, including Wing Wednesday at $12 a dozen, Thirsty Thursday with half-price house wine and $6 Tito's from 6-10pm, and Locals Sunday with 20% off for Hampton residents with food.
L Street Tavern 603 at 17 L St is stronger on daily food specials than on a clean happy hour clock. Monday spaghetti is $6.99, Tuesday tacos are $1, and Thursday prime rib is $12.99.
